Join us for Worship in-person or online as we celebrate Palm/Passion Sunday. The service starts with the joyful waving of palm branches celebrating the way Jesus was welcomed into Jerusalem with a makeshift parade. When some of the people in attendance that first Palm Sunday thought the party was getting to ruckus they asked Jesus to tell everyone to quiet down and Jesus responded, “If these people were to be quiet the very stones would cry out!” So we’ll be boisterous too.
We’ll hear the story of Palm Sunday told in a playful way by the children of Elk River Lutheran with the return of your favorite Bethlehem based TV News Morning Show, “Coffee Breath.”
We’ll pray together and celebrate Holy Communion, and then the service will come to a more somber conclusion as we acknowledge what happens next in the life of Jesus, his passion. We’ll read the story of Jesus being betrayed, put on trial, and ultimately put to death and buried in a tomb. We know it’s not the end of the story, because we’ll gather Easter morning to celebrate the joy of the resurrection!

Join us for a Maundy Thursday Worship in-person or online as we reflect on Jesus’s last hours on earth with his disciples. Jesus chose to spend the last day of his life on earth sharing a meal with his closest friends and showing them real humility as he washed their feet.
As we gather for worship this night we’ll celebrate Holy Communion together as we read about Jesus instituting this meal at the Last Supper.
And as always, as you join us online, we invite you to sing along with the music, participate in call and response liturgy, join us in prayer, engage in the sermon, and celebrate Holy Communion.

We invite you to join us for a somber Good Friday Service where we relive the story of Jesus’s passion, his trial, crucifixion, death, and burial. A series of readings, interspersed with music, will take us through the Stations of the Cross. We remember this story with reverence and hope, because we know that Jesus’s death is not the end of the story as we’ll gather again on Easter Sunday to celebrate the joy of the resurrection.
Happy Easter! Christ is risen indeed!

With shouts of “Alleluia!” we’ll celebrate Christ’s resurrection with joyful music, welcoming community, Easter flowers, a fun hope filled message, and Holy Communion. This service will feature music from our Riverside Ringers Bell Choir and our ERLC Vocal Choir.
We have a special gift and activity to share with all the kids who attend. While children and all of their wiggles and sounds are welcome in all of our services, we do also have a staffed nursery if that’s a better fit for your family.
Again, Happy Easter! He is risen indeed!

Join us in-person or online for Holy Humor Sunday a worship service full of jokes, silliness, and fun dedicated to celebrating the JOY of the resurrection (so maybe not all that traditional this week). Feel free to share a joke in the comments online or come to the church and share one in person. Be ready to laugh, feel inspired by the story of the resurrection and a joke filled sermon, enjoy some “special” music, partake in Holy Communion, and leave feeling a sense of joy.
LENT SCHEDULE
Wednesdays in Lent are a time when we gather together for worship and fellowship. During the Lenten season you are invited to join us for Dinner Church (February 21, 28, March 6, 13 & 20), an event that combines a meal, fellowship, and worship into one shared experience. Dinner Church begins at 6:00 PM in the Community Room. You’ll probably want to arrive ten to fifteen minutes early and find some people to sit with. Each week volunteers help get things set up, bring portions of the meal, and clean up afterward. We work together to make these gatherings happen and experience great fellowship together. I hope you’ll join us!
